The first paragraph in grade 5 was my mask paragraph. There were a lot of things I was proud of but there is still a lot of things that I still need to work on. Like keeping everything organized. I think that my mask paragraph was pretty good except for the things I still need to work on. We also had to write about Minecraft.
This is my paragraph for Minecraft:
What traditional teaching? Kids today like to learn online. Minecraft is an online app that is a new way for kids to learn in school. Should Minecraft replace traditional teaching? So, let’s see how Minecraft affects learning. Minecraft is calming because it has nice calming music and it’s not stressful. It’s not stressful because it uses different calming instruments. School can be stressful so having a calming online app is a good way to learn while having fun. As well, Minecraft is not very violent because there are no guns in the games. We have learned that violence in games causes kids to be stressed and anxious. Minecraft is very fun because you can build almost anything such as roller coasters, buildings, and bridges. Building helps you learn because you have to concentrate and focus on what you are doing. If you like to build you can be an architect or a builder. The skills involved in Minecraft are building, architecting, and surviving because there are different animals and scary creatures. It’s not good to be on a device all day. Staring at your device all day will give you a headache and trouble sleeping. Also, kids spend too much time on devices and not talking and socializing with each other. Even though Minecraft is fun, kids get addicted and spend too much playing Minecraft. Minecraft is connected to learning because there is an educational edition that is for kids to learn. when we had to do a Minecraft paragraph I thought it was going to be easier and better. But it was harder and I think I did better on my mask paragraph. The reason I think I did better was that I know more about masks because we have to wear them every day. But Minecraft I don’t play as much as I use to so I don’t really remember much. And it’s a lot harder to write when you don’t know much about the subject. Also, I forgot to keep my writing organized. In summary, I think I did better on my mask paragraph.
